Being You

You cannot lead from the crowd. ~Margaret Thatcher

Being you is being true to your passions, not what others expect of you.  You are living this life for no one but you, even if you have an immediate family of 12.  Part of who you are can lend itself to making the lives of others a bit easier, but no matter what, you do what you do to advance your goal.  The goal for every human soul is to do what you love and give gratitude along the way.  Sometimes the discovery of what you love to do takes time to figure out, which then leads is into the dangerous territory of complacency.  Life is about stepping out of the comfort zone and shaking it up.  I myself have gotten to where I want to dig my heels in and refuse to open the door toward progress.  Why do we do this you might ask?  Because the brain perceives change as a threat to our existence.  Change doesn’t feel safe.  We want to be assured of success before we even give change a chance.  Forget about the what ifs and the fear of what others think.  Life is too short to grab hold of someone’s dream other than your own.  Also know that you owe no one an explanation for who you are.  There will always be someone to judge, criticize, and disagree with you.  I say so what.  While they are busy judging you, you are headed toward progress.  The kind of progress that makes your heart skip a beat and your soul flutter in your heart.  Go for it now and remove all self imposed limitations and be authentic.
